Biographies

Bishop Cleveland L. Hill was born in Carson, Virginia, February 5, 1949, to the late Roman Hill Sr. and Lucille Woodley Hill. He was the 11th of 12 children. He was raised in a disciplined, God-fearing home, where his parents taught him at an early age the benefits of following Christ and reverencing God. He was saved at the tender age of 12 at Bibleway Church Worldwide under the late Bishop John S. Bean.
Bishop Hill was educated in the public school system of Dinwiddie County (D.C.), as he affectionately calls it, and Petersburg. While in high school, he met his best friend and childhood sweetheart Harriet Glenda Brooks. In August of 1973, they entered into holy matrimony and moved to Chesterfield, VA. In 1977, God blessed them with a beautiful baby girl proudly named Ashaki Naila, meaning beautiful one who succeeds. She is married to Elder Ronald Johnson and they have two sons, Evan and Austin.
His commitment to God and the importance of family became his total focus as he and his family served faithfully at Greater Refuge Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ from 1985 to 1993. it was there, in 1987, that he accepted his calling to the ministry. As a successful businessman, Bishop Hill was anointed as a Marketplace Minister, witnessing to hundreds of souls as they sought him for business transactions. He also established a prison ministry in Richmond City jail that harvested many souls. He served whole-heartedly as armor bearer to his Pastor.
On February 12, 1995, God led him to establish New Beginning Tabernacle Ministries, a holistic ministry based on love and compassion. He continued his education to equip himself for the work of the ministry by attending Richmond Virginia Seminary. He earned several degrees: Bachelor of Theology, Bachelor of Arts, and a Masters degree in Sacred Theology. In February 2008, he received his Doctorate Degree of Humanities from Rovear Christian University.
Bishop Hill's prolific speaking, works in Kingdom building, and compassion for God's people, have gained him recognition locally and abroad with affiliate churches in Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, Africa, and India.

Evangelist Harriet G. Hill, affectionately known as Mother Hill, is the Co-Pastor of New Beginning Tabernacle Ministries. She is a graduate of Rovear Christian University with a degree in Religious Studies. Her realness as a gifted teacher, exhorter and Christian counselor encourages God’s people to reach their full potential in Him.
She serves the ministry in many capacities and has birthed several entities which she oversees, to include New Beginning Academy offering quality childcare , Chosen Fashions Boutique , W.E.( Women Extraordinaire) ministry to promote growth and productive women, Church Folk Productions, performing arts through drama, dance, and mime , Twilight of Life ministry, a 66-week Thru the Bible Course for senior citizens and the community A monthly Brown Bag Food Giveaway for 94 senior homes, partnering with Central Virginia Food Bank, Strengthening the Families Program, serving parents and children for eight weeks of family counseling. Among her many accomplishments, she has been privileged to minister at many conferences, retreats, and services to include a crusade in Nairobi, Kenya. She has served as president of the Board of Directors for The Daughters of Zelophohad, a transitional housing program for homeless women with children. She partnered with the United States Small Business Administration and “Youth Ventures” to encourage business ownership to deter gang activity as identified in her community by the Attorney General’s office. She authored a journal and CD entitled, “The Launching Pad for Success,” which helps release individuals into their destiny. Evangelist Hill is an accomplished entrepreneur and business woman. Her professional career opportunities have earned her the title of “Trailblazer,” having the distinction of being the first African American female to become employed by several Fortune 500 companies in the Richmond area.
She is the wife of 36 years of marriage to Bishop Cleveland Hill, Founder and Senior Pastor of New Beginning. They have one devoted daughter, Ashaki, who is married to Elder Ronald Johnson. Finally, Evangelist Hill is the proud grandmother of two delightful grandsons, Evan and Austin, who are the inspiration for “Grandma Moments” website, the newest ministry initiative.
